The Installation Process

Initial Contact and Preparation

At ClearviewTinting, all of our window film installers make a courtesy call to each customer before they show up on site. Having connected with the customer, they arrive fully prepared with the necessary equipment as well as a thorough understanding of the project at hand. They review the job details twice before arriving to ensure they know exactly what needs to be done.

Setting Up

Upon arrival, our window film installers lay down drop cloths and put on booties to ensure cleanliness. This is especially important in residential and commercial spaces where maintaining a clean environment is crucial.

Pre-Installation Cleaning

After we have prepared the space, the window is then wetted and scraped using stainless steel blades to remove any dirt, grime, or other substances. For wood windows, the edges are scraped dry to remove any old paint or stain. A detail brush is used to clean out the edges, followed by a low psi air can to blow out any remaining debris. This thorough cleaning process is one of the many things that set our window film installers apart from the rest, and it ensures that the finished product is beautiful, functions well, and lasts for years to come.

Film Cutting and Application

A tool called a film cutter is used to cut the film to size. The film is then wetted with a mixture of baby shampoo and water –  an industry standard – and applied to the window. It’s tacked in the middle to hold it in place and then custom cut for each window to minimize any light or visual gaps. This ensures a perfect fit for each window we fit with window film.

Final Touches

After the film is applied, it’s squeegeed out and the window is dried off. Our window film installers then check for any flaws before moving on to the next window.
